Natasha’s approach to painting combines traditional painting mediums with found images from the media that represent female desire in current urban society. As a non-Balinese Indonesian artist-in-resident at Ketemu Project Space, Murni was seen as an enter to a strange conflict of Bali is a “paradise myth” – entwined with the female body – and accommodates “business focusing on pleasure.” Yet, it co exist with traditions. Thus, “desire, consumerism and fantasy” become the keywords to her artworks.
