As Indonesian Visual Artist, Syntha graduated from Trisakti University with a Bachelor degree in Art. Later she worked as a Graphic Designer in a publishing company for one year before she continued her study in Hogeschool voor de Kunsten [School of the Arts] Utrecht, The Netherlands majoring Editorial Design. After completing her Master degree in Art, Syntha went back to work as a Graphic Designer and an Art Director in a Publishing and a Graphic house before she spins her career path and spent several years teaching Visual Art in International Schools.
Her passion in sharing her knowledge has made her realize that education in art and through art can be a narrative to reach out to others. Her teaching experiences have allowed her to work with students from a variety of backgrounds. During her formal teaching years, she has instructed a multicultural group of junior and senior school students, with the International Baccalaureate curriculum. As a result of her time spent in the art classroom, she has developed effective teaching techniques and honed her instructional methods, both of which have allowed her to connect with different types of learners.
After nine years of full time art teaching and making, Syntha returned to educational studies and currently attending International Master Artist Educator program at ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten [School of the Arts] in Arnhem, The Netherlands [2017-2018]. While as a mixed Indonesian national, she has always been eager to gain a great deal of international experiences, both professionally and personally, her projects are mostly communicating both a literal and metaphorical understanding of the natural world. She strives for an intimate connection with the subject of nature, social-culture and identity yet also reveals the unknowable reality of such a form.

During her research days in Ketemu, she created a one-day project in Rumah Berdaya. Her own particular involvement as artist educator with Rumah Berdaya was providing a transformative experience platform, where participants from Rumah Berdaya were able to engage and communicate through an artistic dialogue. The project for each participant was to create a line drawing of an animal that is dear to the participant, with only a pencil or a felt pen. The results of this project are documented and became supporting evidence for her further research. It is her aim to create an artistic dialogue book out of those drawings, that is applicable not only by the participants, but also funders, visitors, and others who are interested in the work of Rumah Berdaya.
Her desire is not only to reduce stigmas and assumptions that surround minorities but also to communicate stories that have never been heard through artistic narrative.
