We were back at the LOUD workshop this afternoon for a pleasant surprise: this awesome old-school farmer’s bike was installed to set the zoetrope mechanism in motion! We each took turns take a “ride” on the bicycle and, gosh, the sounds coming from the creaking of the gears and spinning of the wheels was splendid. Watching the spinning of the zoetrope holder, we were imagining the images that were going to be placed on it for the animation.

It is certainly a huge pity that this structure cannot be brought back home to Bali after the showcase in Singapore. So much work and effort has gone into this. Hopefully, we can find a good home for it in Singapore.
