Budi Agung Kuswara (Bali, 1982) has showcased his works in numerous exhibitions in Indonesia, as well as all around the world, including in Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan. His works “Balinese Baroque (Discovery Toward Invention)” (2018) and “Time After Time (Discovery Toward Invention)” (2018) speak of the meeting point between objects from the past and the present being a key process towards future dialogues and possibilities. They emphasize ‘process’ as being instrumental in the act of invention.

Both artworks explore the medium of watercolor, cotton paper, found objects and photo archives (taken from Bali in the early 1900s). On these works, the artist uses the technique of Cyanotype to extract images from the film, and transferring them onto the paper by way of sunlight.
